The family practice medical specialty was first established in 1969. It has its roots in general medical practice and ensures that practitioners are trained in the multitude of problems a doctor might see in a typical general medical office setting.
As a board-certified family practitioner, Dr. Yamamoto has completed a three-year residency in family practice. To maintain his board certification, he must pass a recertification exam every seven years.
