Keeping Your Family Healthy for Life
The family practice medical specialty was first established in 1969. It has its roots in general medical practice and ensures that practitioners are trained in the multitude of problems that a doctor might see in a typical general medical office setting.
As a board-certified family practitioner, Dr. Yamamoto has completed a three-year residency in family practice. To maintain his board certification, Dr. Yamamoto must pass a recertification exam every seven years. Family practice includes the care and treatment of a wide variety of health conditions and chronic disease, including:
- Cardiovascular disease (heart disease)
- High blood pressure (hypertension)
- Migraine headaches
- Musculoskeletal disorders (from the neck to the feet)
- Carpal tunnel syndrome
- Sports injuries
- Lacerations & minor trauma
- Depression & anxiety disorders
Dr. Yamamoto, his certified family nurse practitioner and the rest of his team can treat just about any family health problem. They all follow the same practice philosophy and treat each individual as a “person” and not as a “patient”!
